Job Title
Senior DDR Analog Characterization Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Chandler Post-Silicon Characterization team to validate and characterize next-generation DDR memory interfaces on Arm SoCs. The role focuses on electrical margining, signal integrity, and timing characterization to ensure reliable operation across voltage, frequency, and temperature corners.
Experience Level
Senior; years of experience not specified.
Responsibilities
The role is responsible for planning and executing post-silicon characterization of DDR memory interfaces and reporting results to enable product release.
- Validate and characterize DDR memory interfaces (e.g., DDR5, LPDDR6) using electrical margining and signal integrity techniques.
- Perform timing analysis and DQ/DQS characterization to ensure functionality across operating corners.
- Develop and execute test plans, methodologies, and automation to improve lab efficiency.
- Use laboratory equipment (high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, active probes, logic analyzers, signal generators, power measurement tools) for data collection.
- Analyze test data, identify root causes, and work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
- Produce detailed documentation and characterization reports for stakeholders.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Hands-on experience with DDR/LPDDR memory interface validation and characterization.
- Proven skill in electrical margin and signal integrity measurements, including eye diagrams, voltage margins, and timing analysis.
- Familiarity with DDR protocols, memory training, timing relationships, and JEDEC specifications.
- Experience operating lab instrumentation: high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, active probes, logic analyzers, signal generators, and power measurement equipment.
- Strong understanding of silicon processes for high-speed memory interfaces.
- Effective time management, written communication, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience developing automation scripts or frameworks (Python or similar).
- Proven collaboration and interpersonal skills for cross-team work.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. The posting also references a GPA expectation of 3.0 or higher.
