Role Summary

The Senior CPU Verification Engineer will join the Unified Core design team at Intel's Silicon and Platform Engineering group. This role involves ensuring the functional correctness of CPU designs through advanced verification methodologies.

Experience Level

This position requires a strong background in CPU verification with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience for candidates with a Bachelor's degree, or 3 years with a Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a STEM-related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute detailed verification plans to ensure CPU logic is validated against architectural specifications.
  • Build UVM-based testbenches and define robust functional coverage models.
  • Conduct system-level simulations to detect and address design bugs, ensuring functional integrity.
  • Debug verification issues in a pre-silicon environment and implement solutions for test failures.
  • Collaborate with CPU architects and RTL designers on complex architectural features verification.
  • Document verification strategies and lead discussions with design and architecture teams.
  • Enhance existing verification methodologies and infrastructure.
  • Contribute to the development of CPU architecture and microarchitecture features.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent, with 4+ years of experience, or a Master's Degree with 3+ years.
  • At least 2 years of experience in digital logic design and developing UVM-based testbenches.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Perl, Tcl), C++, and System Verilog.
  • Knowledge of Synopsys simulators and familiarity with x86 ASM is preferred.
  • Experience with version control software, particularly GIT.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or any related STEM field is required.
