Senior Chip Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Work on the Networking Silicon Engineering team verifying front-end chip designs for high-speed communication devices (Switch, GPU, HCA). The role focuses on planning and implementing verification for units and blocks to meet architecture and micro-architecture requirements under power, area, and performance constraints.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Preferred 4+ years of RTL verification experience; strong candidates with less experience and high academic performance may be considered.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include planning, designing and executing verification for front-end design blocks and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Design verification plans and testbenches for units/blocks based on architecture and micro-architecture specifications.
- Develop and execute RTL verification at block and cluster levels; create directed and constrained-random tests as needed.
- Work closely with Architecture, Micro-Architecture, Firmware and other engineering teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
- Analyze functional coverage and verification metrics; identify and close verification gaps.
- Deliver verification results under constraints for power, area, and performance; drive tasks to completion independently.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, experience, and personal qualities.
- 4+ years practical experience in RTL verification (preferred).
- Experience with full-chip and cluster-level verification is advantageous.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently; reliable at driving tasks to completion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; effective collaborator across teams.
- Nice-to-have: familiarity with Specman and Verilog; domain knowledge in networking protocols and systems.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (B.Sc.), Computer Engineering or a related engineering field is stated as the typical qualification; equivalent practical experience is acceptable. High academic performance is noted as beneficial.
