Role Summary

Develop and maintain software tools used in chip design and verification within the Chip Design Technologies group. The role focuses on improving productivity and quality for NVIDIA's networking chip design and verification flows by delivering scalable automation and methodology improvements.

Work closely with designers and verification engineers to identify bottlenecks and own solutions end-to-end from design through delivery and support.

Experience Level

Senior — 5+ years developing software tools for chip design or verification.

Responsibilities

Own development and delivery of tooling that accelerates chip design and verification work.

• Design, implement, and maintain software tools for chip design and verification flows.
• Collaborate with designers and verification engineers to identify bottlenecks and propose improvements.
• Deliver end-to-end solutions including specification, implementation, deployment, and ongoing support.
• Identify efficiency and quality gaps and implement automation or methodology improvements.
• Participate in cross-team technical discussions and design reviews to define software solutions.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications:

• 5+ years building software tools for chip design or verification.
• Strong software engineering skills, including debugging and system design.
• Effective communication and a proactive approach to working with users and cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-have:

• 2+ years hands-on experience in chip design or verification.
• Experience leading cross-team technical discussions and delivering methodology or automation improvements.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Demonstrated focus on building usable tools informed by user needs and debug scenarios.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
