Job Title

Senior Automotive Product Test Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for improving yield and device performance of automotive SoCs during production ramp and high-volume manufacturing within the Hardware Engineering team. The role focuses on yield analysis, test development, and cross-functional collaboration with foundries, assembly and test houses, and product/test engineering.

Lead and coordinate debug and resolution activities, provide yield outlooks for product planning, and support test program release into mass production.

Experience Level

Senior — typically requires 3+ years working with ATE/test platforms (notably Advantest 93K) and experience in hardware/test engineering and production ramp.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include yield ramp, test validation, and cross-functional debugging:

  • Analyze yield, process, diagnostic, and semiconductor test data to support volume ramp, lot disposition, and root-cause isolation.
  • Support foundry, assembly, and test houses on process qualification and validation of probe cards, load boards, and testers across process and operating conditions.
  • Debug, validate, and release test programs into mass production.
  • Collaborate with wafer foundries, assembly/test partners, and Qualcomm PTE teams to identify and resolve yield and performance issues.
  • Provide yield outlooks and cost-impact analysis to management and business teams.
  • Lead teams and task forces to investigate and resolve yield excursions and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred skills and experience.

Must-have:

  • 3+ years experience with ATE test platforms; familiarity with Advantest 93K.
  • Understanding of VLSI test techniques and basic digital/analog circuit concepts.
  • Basic data analysis skills and ability to interpret semiconductor test data.
  • Fluent English (spoken and written); proactive work attitude.
  • Ability to handle new challenges and work in a high-volume semiconductor environment.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of design-for-test (DFT), design-for-manufacturing (DFM), and design-of-experiments (DOE).
  • Familiarity with reliability testing, quality concepts, and failure analysis.
  • Experience with foundry and assembly processes and yield management software (e.g., O+ or Exensio).
  • Understanding of test-house operations, supply chain, KPIs, and continuous improvement in fabless high-volume production.
  • Automotive industry experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field plus 2+ years of hardware engineering or related experience; OR Master's degree in these fields plus 1+ year of related experience; OR a PhD in these fields. Related technical degrees or equivalent practical experience in hardware/test engineering are acceptable.
