Senior ASIC Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Lead verification and VLSI engineering efforts for complex ASIC/VLSI products. Provide technical leadership across design, validation, and testing phases and coordinate internal and external partners to deliver reliable silicon solutions.
This role is expected to be primarily onsite at an HPE office.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 10+ years of experience in VLSI design, verification, or implementation.
Responsibilities
Accountable for verification strategy, technical direction, and delivery for ASIC projects. Collaborate across teams to ensure design quality and manufacturability.
- Lead project teams of VLSI engineers and outsourced partners through design, validation, and testing phases.
- Define and review verification plans, testbenches, and simulation strategies for complex designs.
- Develop and maintain verification environments using SystemVerilog/UVM and related tools.
- Analyze design and test results, drive root-cause analysis, and recommend design fixes.
- Provide architecture-level input and ensure compliance with VLSI design guidelines and standards.
- Mentor and guide less-experienced engineers; contribute to selection and development of technical leaders.
- Drive VLSI innovation and integration of new technologies into projects.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate contribution.
- 10+ years of experience in VLSI design, verification, or implementation.
- Strong experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog and UVM-based verification methodologies.
- Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python, PERL, or TCL.
- Experience with software languages C/C++ and EDA/FPGA tools.
- Expert-level knowledge of digital logic, computer architecture, and VLSI principles; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating internal and external development partners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Nice-to-have: Specman knowledge; patents or publications in VLSI or hardware design.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
