Role Summary
The Senior Applications Engineer for Processor IP plays a critical role in pre-sales technical support for Synopsys' DesignWare Processor product line, driving customer engagement and satisfaction through expert knowledge and tailored solutions in semiconductor design.
Experience Level
Applicants should have 7 to 10 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, specifically within SoC/ASIC design and architecture, ensuring a deep understanding of complex processor IP technology and customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive pre-sales technical support for the DesignWare Processor product line, including customer engagement and technical requirements analysis.
- Lead customer presentations and training sessions, showcasing Synopsys processor IP capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with sales teams to strategize technical sales engagements.
- Assist customers throughout the evaluation and adoption process, addressing challenges and technical questions.
- Gather customer insights and feedback for product development influence.
- Travel up to 30% within Japan for customer interactions and events.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is required; Master’s degree (MSEE) is preferred.
- Extensive experience (7-10+ years) in SoC/ASIC design and architecture, with hands-on RTL coding skills.
- Thorough understanding of RISC and DSP architectures, along with embedded system design expertise.
- Experience with DSP algorithms and AI/ML systems is advantageous.
- Fluency in English and Japanese is highly desirable.
- Ability to travel domestically as needed.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory, with a preference for candidates holding a Master's degree in the same field.
