Role Summary
As a Senior Applications Engineer at Siemens EDA, you will be responsible for bridging the connection between our tier 1 customers and the technical team. This role requires you to leverage your expertise in electronic design automation (EDA) to support clients using our Aprisa software for Place & Route operations. You will engage directly with clients and lead customer relationships while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring the team's technical success.
Experience Level
This position requires five or more years of experience in a relevant industry, ideally with a focus on electronic design automation and applications engineering. Prior experience in similar roles with a hands-on approach to IC design and related processes is crucial.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a key technologist for customer engagements, ensuring successful implementation and use of Aprisa.
- Manage and develop customer relationships, addressing their technical and business challenges.
- Provide leadership and training to junior engineers on the team.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across marketing, sales, R&D, and customer support to drive product success.
- Adapt to dynamic project requirements and demonstrate flexibility in your work hours to communicate effectively with global stakeholders.
- Travel as needed to meet with clients and team members.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills and high emotional intelligence to navigate complex discussions with various stakeholders.
- Proven ability to balance customer needs with business objectives, making strategic decisions on resource allocation.
- Experience with EDA tools such as Innovus or IC Compiler and familiarity with RTL to GDS flows.
- Expert scripting skills (TCL and command line *nix) along with a solid understanding of Verilog and UPF data formats.
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and project management, demonstrating an organized and documented approach to your work.
Education Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field is required. Candidates should possess a comprehensive understanding of VLSI design methodologies.
