Role Summary

The Senior Application Engineering Engineer will focus on developing and validating DRC, LVS, and Fill runsets for the Synopsys IC Validator tool, primarily targeting semiconductor technologies. The role involves collaboration with foundries and customers to ensure high-quality physical verification solutions.

Experience Level

Senior level with 5-8 years of hands-on experience in Physical Verification (PV).

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include:

• Developing and validating runsets for the IC Validator tool.
• Collaborating closely with foundries for process requirement understanding.
• Automating qualification processes using scripting languages like Perl, Tcl, and Python.
• Troubleshooting layout verification issues including LVS and DRC violations.
• Providing technical support and engaging directly with customers and field application engineers.
• Mentoring junior engineers and promoting a knowledge-sharing culture.
• Staying updated with advancements in EDA tools and foundry processes.

Requirements

The required qualifications are:

• B.Tech, M.Tech, or MS in Electronics, VLSI, or related field.
• 5-8 years of experience in Physical Verification.
• Proficiency with EDA tools like IC Validator, Calibre, and Pegasus.
• Strong scripting skills in Perl, Tcl, and Python.
• Solid understanding of CMOS layouts and ASIC design flows.
• Experience in writing and debugging DRC, LVS, ERC, and DFM rule decks.
• Familiarity with competitive EDA tools.

Education Requirements

B.Tech, M.Tech, or MS in Electronics, VLSI, or a related field is required.
