Senior Application Engineer, Online Application Support Team

Role Summary

Provide technical online support to customers designing with NXP automotive microprocessors. You will be the product expert for assigned MCU families, collaborate with global and local teams, and ensure customers can progress through design and development phases efficiently.

Experience Level

Senior — at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include direct customer support, technical enablement, and contribution to product and reference material development.

• Provide high-level technical support to customers worldwide via online support channels.
• Act as technical expert for S32 family devices (S32G, S32V, S32Z, S32E) and upcoming products (e.g., S32N), including SDKs, programming and debugging tools.
• Manage technical customer support activities and potentially provide on-site support when required.
• Support design-in activities and provide technical product training to customers.
• Prepare application notes, technical support materials, and reference designs; contribute to EVK development.
• Review documentation and test internal deliverables to support next-generation products.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, customer-facing experience, and personal attributes for the role.

• Must-have: Experienced software engineer with customer support experience and a proven customer-facing role.
• Must-have: Strong automotive MPU background; familiarity with NXP product families preferred.
• Must-have: Experience with development tools and systems for embedded development; expertise in Linux-based embedded software.
• Must-have: Knowledge of automotive communication technologies and protocols.
• Must-have: Basic project management knowledge for customer-related projects.
• Must-have: Fluent English and strong communication/customer-facing skills.
• Desired: Experience developing reference designs or evaluation kits (EVKs) and writing application notes.
• Personal: Results-oriented, independent, initiative-taking team player with multicultural sensitivity and process/quality focus.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering or a closely related technical field (software/embedded engineering). The posting specifies degree-level education; relevant industry experience is also required (minimum of 3 years of experience noted elsewhere).
