Job Title

Senior Application Engineer, EDA

Role Summary

Provide applications engineering and methodology support for RF, analog, mixed-signal (AMS), and digital silicon design teams. Act as the technical interface between product design teams, internal CAD/EDA groups, technology development, and EDA vendors to enable efficient, scalable silicon product development.

The role includes hands-on support for designers, development and qualification of EDA design flows, and driving methodology and automation to improve first-pass silicon success and design productivity.

Experience Level

Senior-level (Professional). The posting requests approximately 5+ years of relevant experience supporting or designing RFIC, analog, mixed-signal, or digital IC products.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day and project responsibilities for enabling silicon design and verification flows.

  • Provide hands-on applications support for RFIC, analog, mixed-signal, and digital design teams using industry-standard EDA tools.
  • Develop, maintain, and deploy silicon design methodologies and reference flows across custom analog/RF, AMS, and digital domains.
  • Support circuit simulation, mixed-signal and digital verification, modeling, debug, and results interpretation.
  • Evaluate, benchmark, qualify, and deploy EDA tools and vendor solutions for custom design, AMS simulation, digital verification, and RF simulation.
  • Collaborate with technology, design, CAD, and product engineering teams to improve first-pass silicon success.
  • Work with EDA vendors to resolve technical issues, influence roadmaps, and deploy new capabilities.
  • Deliver training, documentation, and mentoring to increase designer proficiency and adoption of best practices.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and domain experience.

  • 5+ years of experience supporting or designing RFIC, analog, mixed-signal, or digital IC products.
  • Hands-on experience with CMOS, SOI, SiGe, or similar silicon technologies.
  • Experience with custom analog/RF design, AMS verification, and/or digital design and verification flows.
  • Proficiency with EDA tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, Xcelium, Synopsys HSPICE/PrimeSim, VCS, Keysight ADS, AWR, or equivalents.
  • Ability to develop and deploy design flows, PDK enablement, automation, and reusable best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Preferred: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. The posting also allows for equivalent advanced education and experience (e.g., 5+ years of relevant practical experience may substitute for formal degree requirements).
