Senior Analog Layout Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for physical design and full-custom analog/mixed-signal IC layout in advanced CMOS/BiCMOS technologies for power-management products. Works with cross-functional and offshore teams to deliver layouts from block-level through top-level to tape-out, ensuring manufacturability and design-rule compliance.

Senior; requires 7+ years of relevant analog/mixed-signal layout experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning, implementing, verifying, and delivering analog/mixed-signal layouts.

  • Chip floorplanning, device placement, matching, and routing.
  • Run and interpret physical verification checks (DRC, LVS, ERC) and debug verification issues.
  • Develop and execute project schedules to meet milestones and tape-out deadlines.
  • Support and coordinate with off-site and overseas design/layout teams; lead layout efforts as needed.
  • Apply hierarchical planning and integrate block-level layouts into top-level chip design.
  • Implement signal shielding, isolation techniques, and matching strategies for analog integrity.

Requirements

  • 7+ years designing full-custom analog and mixed-signal layouts in CMOS and BiCMOS technologies.
  • Proven ability to take projects from block-level through top-level to tape-out.
  • Experience with Cadence Assura and Cadence Virtuoso XL (VXL).
  • Familiarity with physical verification flow and debugging DRC/LVS/ERC issues.
  • Experience using data-management tools in a Unix environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to lead teams and collaborate across time zones.
  • Understanding of semiconductor devices, processes (CMOS, BiCMOS), and layout best practices.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering or completion of a Certificate Program in Integrated Circuit Layout, as stated by the employer.
