Job Title

Semiconductor Product Engineer

Role Summary

Work with customers and memory-system integrators to achieve design wins and qualify Micron memory products in customer applications. Focus areas include system-level validation, failure analysis, characterization, and customer technical integration.

Collaborate with HBM/product engineering, FAE, QA, and business teams; present data to customers and provide on-site support when required. May telecommute part-time.

Responsibilities

Deliver system-level validation, diagnostics, and performance optimization for memory products in customer systems.

  • Validate and characterize memory behavior in customer applications; design and run experiments and benchmarks.
  • Perform failure analysis and debug customer failures using diagnostics and proprietary internal tests.
  • Run and configure diagnostic software; develop custom hardware and software tools as needed.
  • Use lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, thermal chambers, multimeters) to collect and analyze data.
  • Configure and verify internal and external IPs to drive system performance.
  • Present technical findings to customers and internal teams; provide technical integration support at customer sites.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • Experience with industry-standard memory interfaces and protocols (examples: DDR, HBM, LPDDR, GDDR, CXL, UCIe, PCIe).
  • System-level characterization using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and thermal chambers.
  • System benchmarking, profiling, and optimization experience.
  • RTL experience (VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog).
  • Design-for-testability (DFT) knowledge.
  • Experience with 8D or similar failure documentation and customer failure resolution processes.

Education Requirements

Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
