Job Title

Semiconductor Design Engineer, DRAM (Senior / Staff / Principal)

Role Summary

Design and validate advanced DRAM and emerging memory circuits from concept through silicon validation. Work within the DRAM Engineering team and collaborate with verification, layout, CAD, product, and process groups to deliver manufacturable memory solutions.

This role may include leading technical projects, mentoring engineers, and contributing to design automation and AI-assisted workflows.

Experience Level

Senior-level (Senior / Staff / Principal). Typical experience expectation: equivalent to an experienced engineer (generally 7+ years) though exact years are not specified in the posting.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include circuit design, verification, and cross-team collaboration to prepare designs for tape-out and silicon validation.

  • Design, simulate, and optimize digital, analog, and mixed-signal circuits for DRAM and emerging memory products.
  • Translate product requirements into circuit solutions and validate performance across operating conditions.
  • Perform circuit verification, silicon correlation, debug, and tape-out support.
  • Collaborate with design, verification, layout, CAD, product, and process teams to improve product quality and manufacturability.
  • Contribute to design automation, AI-assisted workflows, technical reviews, and engineering protocols.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

  • Experience in semiconductor circuit design, CMOS design, memory design, or analog/mixed-signal development.
  • Strong knowledge of CMOS circuits, device physics, digital logic, simulation, and design verification.
  • Practical experience with schematic capture, circuit simulation, waveform analysis, and industry-standard EDA tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to debug silicon and support tape-out activities.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with DRAM, NAND, SRAM, HBM, DDR/LPDDR/GDDR and related circuit blocks (arrays, sense amps, datapaths, clocking, I/O).
  • Nice-to-have: experience with physical design topics (parasitics, timing, signal integrity, power delivery) and automation using Python, Tcl, Perl, or AI tools.
  • Leadership experience: mentoring engineers or leading technical projects is desirable for senior/staff/principal levels.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Preferred: Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
