Semiconductor Design Engineer

Role Summary

Contribute to the design, layout, verification, and optimization of memory, logic, and analog integrated circuits. Work spans schematic entry, parasitic modeling, circuit verification, and oversight of the physical layout process.

Collaborate with process, test, assembly, product engineering and other cross-functional teams to enable high-volume manufacturing and improve design quality.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities include:

• Assist in design, layout and optimization of memory, logic, and analog circuits.
• Perform parasitic extraction and parasitic modeling to support timing and signal integrity analysis.
• Verify and validate circuit functions using industry-standard simulators.
• Oversee layout activities including floor-planning, placement and routing to ensure manufacturability.
• Coordinate layout verification using tools such as Calibre and Cadence flows.
• Perform power analysis and general data analysis to meet design specifications.
• Work with marketing, probe, assembly, test, process integration and product engineering teams to transition designs to high-volume manufacturing.
• Engage standards, CAD, modeling and verification teams to improve design quality and processes.

Requirements

Technical must-haves:

• VLSI design skills and experience with schematic entry.
• Experience with industry-standard simulators (e.g. SPICE, PrimeSim, Verilog).
• Proficiency with layout and verification tools (e.g. Cadence Virtuoso, Calibre).
• Understanding of circuit operation, power analysis, and data analysis techniques.
• Knowledge of semiconductor memory operation.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.

Education Requirements

Employer will accept a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
