Security Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Security team developing Security IP for Snapdragon SoCs. The role focuses on designing and delivering secure hardware subsystems (hardware root of trust, cryptographic accelerators, key management, secure processing) and working cross-functionally with architecture, software, SoC design and security testing teams to ship high-volume silicon.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Typical candidates have early- to mid-career ASIC design, verification, validation or integration experience (roughly 1–3 years of relevant industry experience).
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include design, verification and integration of security IP and subsystems.
- Architect and implement RTL for security IP such as cryptographic accelerators and key management blocks.
- Perform synthesis and timing closure and support implementation flows.
- Apply low-power design techniques and UPF methodologies to meet power targets.
- Use and support signoff flows and quality checks (DC, LINT, CDC).
- Collaborate with architecture, software and SoC teams to integrate and validate subsystems.
- Support security validation and penetration-testing activities and ensure designs meet security and production requirements.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- ASIC design experience with RTL implementation in Verilog or VHDL.
- Practical experience with synthesis and timing-closure workflows.
- Familiarity with DC, LINT and CDC tool flows.
- Experience with low-power design techniques and UPF.
- Proven ability to work in multi-disciplinary, global teams and deliver for high-volume applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Nice-to-have: exposure to security hardware and cryptographic algorithms, knowledge of SoC security concepts, and familiarity with Agentic AI development flows.
Education Requirements
Employer specifies: Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering or related field (typically with 2+ years ASIC experience), OR Master's degree in Science, Engineering or related field (typically with 1+ year ASIC experience), OR PhD in Science, Engineering or related field. Equivalent practical experience will be considered.
