Secure Element and Applet Developer

Role Summary

The Secure Element and Applet Developer designs, implements, and validates secure mobile payment solutions and applets for on-card secure microcontrollers. The role covers software architecture, coding, testing, and performance optimization for smart-card platforms and involves customer-facing technical interactions.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and validate secure mobile payment solutions and applets.
• Implement on-card software for secure microcontrollers and optimize performance.
• Create and execute unit and functional test cases; develop test plans and ensure test coverage.
• Produce software design and code; contribute to architecture and design decisions.
• Ensure compliance with international smart-card and payment standards.
• Engage with customers to drive technical solutions and provide domain expertise.

Requirements

Required and desirable skills:

• Must-have: Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Java.
• Must-have: Experience programming embedded microcontrollers (e.g. 8051, ARM).
• Must-have: Familiarity with contact/contactless smart-card protocols (ISO7816, ISO14443, NFC).
• Nice-to-have: Experience with Smart Card OS / Java Card OS.
• Nice-to-have: Knowledge of secure coding practices and applied cryptography.
• Nice-to-have: Exposure to GlobalPlatform, EMVCo, or GSMA standards.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills; ability to work in customer-facing engagements.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred; the posting specifies a Master’s plus 2–5 years of related experience. No alternate degrees or explicit "or equivalent practical experience" language was provided.
