Role Summary
The RTL Design Lead will oversee the RTL design and implementation for high-performance x86-core processor architecture at Advanced Micro Devices. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in digital design, communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multi-site environment.
Experience Level
This position requires a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in digital IP/ASIC design, with a strong proficiency in Verilog RTL development and a background in full IP design cycles.
Responsibilities
- Design and architecture of power management features, cache, and coherency for high-performance processors.
- Optimize designs to implement power-efficient IP using low-power techniques.
- Lead the design team in delivering RTL designs, ensuring quality and performance standards are met.
- Mentor junior RTL team members and manage workflow to achieve team goals.
- Engage with DFT, Physical Design, and SOC teams, incorporating interdisciplinary feedback into designs.
- Maintain a focus on documentation, communication, and task management throughout projects.
- Represent AMD at technical meetings with external partners and vendors.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in Verilog RTL design and verification processes.
- Experience with front-end EDA tool sign-offs and flows.
- Ability to program in scripting languages such as Python or Perl is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of engineering terminology and digital design concepts in the semiconductor industry.
- Experience in functional design verification is highly desirable.
Education Requirements
A Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or VLSI design Engineering is preferred.
