Job Title

RF Test Engineering Technician

Role Summary

Support the High Power RF Group in Qorvo's Infrastructure and Defense Products organization by performing DC and RF testing of prototypes and new designs in a lab environment. The role collects, organizes, and delivers test data to design engineers and reports test progress to management and customers.

Position is based in Newbury Park, CA and works closely with design engineering to validate RF amplifier performance from DC to mmWave frequencies.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” requires a minimum of 2 years of RF amplifier/testing experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focused on RF test setup, execution, data collection, and communication of results.

  • Conduct DC and RF testing from DC to mmWave frequencies in an RF lab.
  • Support design engineering by testing prototypes and new designs.
  • Set up and calibrate S-parameter and power test stations per standards.
  • Troubleshoot test setups to ensure accurate and repeatable data.
  • Collect, organize, and deliver test data and reports to design engineering and management.
  • Adapt to changing test requirements and work in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and abilities; desired additional experience noted separately.

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in RF amplifier testing.
  • Proficient with RF test equipment: signal sources, pulse generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers, power meters, power supplies, and digital multimeters.
  • Knowledge of RF test methods: S-parameters, power and pulsed power measurements, TOI, harmonics, and modulation testing (AM/AM, AM/PM, PAM, etc.).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (data recording and reporting).
  • Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; able to work as a team member.
  • Capable of multitasking and adapting to evolving test needs.
  • Must be able to lift and move 25 pounds.

Education Requirements

Required: AS (Associate of Science) in Engineering. Also requires 2 years of RF testing experience. (No mention of accepted equivalent experience or alternative degrees in the posting.)
