RF Applications Engineer
Role Summary
The RF Applications Engineer based in Limerick will support development, evaluation, and customer deployment of RF product ICs and the software/tools used to configure and characterize them. The role combines RF hands-on evaluation with software development for automation and evaluation workflows.
Works with product, design, and field teams across the product lifecycle including product definition, documentation, and customer support.
Experience Level

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical support, lab evaluation, and software automation to enable product characterization and customer success.
- Act as an RF product expert; interface with customers and field applications engineers to resolve design challenges.
- Provide timely responses to customer and FAE inquiries.
- Develop Python-based automation scripts for lab measurements, data capture, and evaluation workflows.
- Contribute to evaluation software including GUIs and device drivers for RF products.
- Perform hands-on evaluation of RF ICs using spectrum analyzers, phase-noise analyzers, VNAs, and related test equipment.
- Create datasheets, user guides, evaluation board documentation, and application notes; produce related software collateral as needed.
- Collaborate with internal product teams to define signal-chain solutions and provide customer-driven input to new product definitions.
- Travel to customer sites or field locations as required (approximately 10% travel).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; education requirements are listed separately below.
- Hands-on programming experience in Python and at least one of C, C++, or C#.
- Practical experience with silicon evaluation and lab measurement workflows.
- Experience using RF test instruments such as spectrum analyzers, phase-noise analyzers, and vector network analyzers.
- Strong presentation, technical writing, and verbal communication skills; ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to produce clear documentation and evaluation materials (datasheets, user guides, application notes).
- Nice-to-have: knowledge of programmable logic (FPGA) or SoC development.
Education Requirements
B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering. The posting specifies a minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience.
