Role Summary
The R&D Methodology and Automation Lead is responsible for driving advanced design methodologies and automation frameworks in the semiconductor industry. This role requires deep technical expertise in EDA and chip design as well as leadership in deploying innovative solutions that enhance productivity and quality in engineering practices.
Experience Level
This position requires over 10 years of relevant experience in EDA methodology, CAD automation, or semiconductor process development. Proven leadership and project management skills in a cross-functional engineering environment are critical.
Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and implementation of design methodologies for analog, mixed-signal, and digital IC design.
- Mentor and manage a team of engineers in EDA methodology and automation initiatives.
- Collaborate with R&D and product teams to enhance design flows and processes.
- Drive the adoption of AI/ML for automation to improve design cycle efficiency.
- Identify and address inefficiencies in workflows through innovative solutions.
- Interface with foundry and customer teams to ensure methodologies meet current technology needs.
- Document and share improvements and successes to facilitate global knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in EDA methodology, CAD automation, or semiconductor process development.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and project management competencies.
- Hands-on expertise with EDA tools like Synopsys Custom Compiler and Cadence Virtuoso.
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, Perl, TCL, and Shell.
- Experience in developing complex design methodologies across technology nodes.
- Proven ability to drive process improvements and methodology adoption initiatives.
Education Requirements
A relevant degree in engineering or a similar field is expected; advanced degrees are advantageous.
