R&D Engineer IC Design

Role Summary

The R&D Engineer IC Design role is part of the Network Switch Group at Broadcom, which focuses on developing complex networking ASICs and multi-chip solutions. The role involves micro-architecture, design, RTL coding, debugging, and synthesis of functional blocks in Broadcom’s network switch products.

Experience Level

Senior level, requiring a BS with 8+ years or an MS with 6+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include:

• Creating high quality micro-architecture and design specifications.
• Verilog RTL coding and synthesis.
• Conducting testplan reviews, assertions, debugging, code, and functional coverage.
• Collaborating with the Physical Design team for floor plan, timing, and congestion resolution.
• Post silicon bring-up, debugging, and failure analysis.

Requirements

Must-have skills and qualifications:

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in ASIC design.
• Strong knowledge of Verilog and RTL.
• Experience in micro-architecture and design specifications.

Education Requirements
