Job Title

Quantum Cryoprober Engineer

Role Summary

Operate and maintain quantum cryoprobers to characterize quantum devices, primarily quantum dots and spin qubits in silicon. Analyze electrical measurement data and provide actionable feedback to Fab Integration and the Quantum Measurement Lab to improve device performance and operation.

This position requires regular onsite presence in Hillsboro to perform hands-on measurements and instrument ownership.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The role requires a minimum of 5 years of hands-on electrical device measurement experience in a semiconductor setting.

Responsibilities

Perform device characterization and support tool operation, data collection, and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Characterize quantum devices using quantum cryoprobers, focusing on quantum dots and spin qubits in silicon.
  • Execute electrical measurements and collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data.
  • Provide actionable feedback to the Fab Integration team to improve device performance.
  • Collaborate with the Quantum Measurement Lab, Integration, Theory, and Qubit Measurement teams.
  • Take ownership of measurement tools, manage upgrades, and ensure instrument performance.
  • Develop and maintain code to support measurement automation and data analysis.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred qualifications for successful performance in this role.

  • Must-have: Minimum 5 years of hands-on electrical device measurement experience in a semiconductor setting.
  • Must-have: Demonstrated hands-on electrical testing experience at room temperature and a strong understanding of transistor and quantum dot operation.
  • Must-have: Ability to work onsite regularly in Hillsboro to perform essential hands-on duties.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with cryogenic measurements.
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming for measurement and analysis (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
  • Prior hands-on experience with quantum dots and spin qubits and familiarity with quantum device characterization principles.
  • Experience in collaborative research or engineering environments and strong organizational, data analysis, and communication skills.

Education Requirements

PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (specified as the minimum qualification in the posting).
