Job Title

Quantum Cryo CMOS Design Enablement, Member of Technical Staff

Role Summary

Technical contributor within the Quantum Technology Solutions organization responsible for developing cryogenic CMOS design enablement capabilities. Translate device and process innovations into validated Process Design Kits (PDKs), compact models, and EDA-integrated design flows for quantum and cryogenic applications.

Work cross-functionally with device engineering, process development, and EDA teams to deliver scalable, manufacturable, and customer-usable cryogenic design solutions.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting specifies 5+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include PDK development, device characterization, model validation, and EDA integration.

  • Contribute to development of cryogenic CMOS PDKs, including compact models, parameter extraction, and cross-temperature validation.
  • Support device modeling by correlating silicon data and simulations to ensure predictive model behavior.
  • Develop and execute electrical characterization plans for cryogenic CMOS devices and circuits.
  • Design and implement test structures and test sites for model extraction and validation.
  • Contribute to test chip design and evaluation to improve PDK capabilities.
  • Analyze characterization and test data to identify trends, variability, and opportunities to improve models and design rules.
  • Support development and deployment of design flows and model integration within EDA environments.
  • Collaborate with EDA vendors to enable modeling, simulation, and design capabilities for cryogenic and quantum applications.
  • Document methodologies, assumptions, and results to enable scalable design enablement and knowledge transfer.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • Experience with device modeling, characterization, or test structures.
  • Familiarity with electrical characterization techniques and data analysis.
  • Experience working with EDA tools and semiconductor design flows.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and clear technical communication.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with cryogenic electronics or low-temperature device behavior.
  • Exposure to PDK development or compact model implementation.
  • Experience designing test chips or supporting silicon validation activities.
  • Familiarity with variability modeling or statistical data analysis.
  • Experience working with EDA vendors and exposure to quantum computing hardware.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, or a related field.
