Python Automation Engineer – Pre-Silicon Validation Tools (Intern/Co-op)

Role Summary

Internship role on the pre-silicon validation team responsible for developing and maintaining automation and validation tools used to evaluate upcoming Intel products. The position focuses on test automation, debugging, performance analysis, validation coverage, and infrastructure for pre-silicon environments.

The intern will work within the Data Center Group (DCG) validation team, collaborating with engineers to improve tool performance and test infrastructure while gaining practical experience.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Internship. Suitable for students or early-career candidates; the role expects some practical exposure (minimum indicated: ~3 months) to relevant topics such as computer architecture, programming, and Linux.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include developing automation, supporting validation activities, and collaborating on test infrastructure.

  • Develop automation tools to improve pre-silicon validation tool performance.
  • Assist with debugging and performance analysis to identify and resolve issues.
  • Support validation coverage and readiness for product quality assurance.
  • Participate in test automation, data analysis, and validation workflows.
  • Collaborate on the design and implementation of validation infrastructure and test environments.
  • Work on assigned projects aligned with business goals and deliver practical results.

Requirements

Must-have vs. nice-to-have qualifications.

Must-have:
  • At least 3 months of practical experience in relevant areas such as computer architecture.
  • Programming experience in any language.
  • Experience with software tools such as GitHub.
  • Familiarity with Linux.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • Unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico (no visa sponsorship available).
  • Resume in English required for application.
Nice-to-have:
  • Familiarity with Python programming and scripting.
  • Experience with Azure Pipelines and Power BI.
  • Understanding of server and SoC architectures.

Education Requirements

Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (e.g., Electronics Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar). Must have completed at least 50% of bachelor’s degree coursework. Qualifications may be demonstrated through a mix of coursework, internships, research, or relevant industry experience.
