Job Title
Product Owner — Atlas Tools and Services
Role Summary
Product Owner responsible for owning the roadmap and backlog for Atlas Explorer and the Atlas engagement portal within MIPS Atlas Tools and Services. The role translates market and customer requirements into prioritized work for engineering teams to deliver developer tools that enable pre‑RTL analysis, optimization, and validation.
This is a cross‑functional role partnering with IP development, performance modeling, platform engineering, cloud, security, and solutions engineering to accelerate customer time‑to‑value.
Experience Level
Senior level — requires significant industry experience (see Requirements for detail).
Responsibilities
Deliver product value by managing roadmap, backlog, and cross‑team execution; enable frequent, measurable deliveries that improve developer experience and time‑to‑insight.
- Own and continuously groom the product backlog (epics, features, user stories); prioritize by customer impact, differentiation, and feasibility.
- Build and maintain a rolling 12–18 month product roadmap aligned with MIPS Atlas IP and customer needs.
- Represent users (embedded SW engineers, SoC architects, CI/CD owners) through analytics and beta programs; convert insights into measurable outcomes.
- Run agile ceremonies (refinement, sprint planning, reviews) to enable frequent incremental delivery.
- Elevate developer experience across client and cloud solutions: onboarding, low‑effort experiments, reports, comparisons, and secure collaboration.
- Define success metrics per feature and use telemetry for data‑driven prioritization and iteration.
- Coordinate early‑access/co‑design with strategic customers and manage feedback loops, release notes, enablement, and demos.
- Collaborate on go‑to‑market readiness with Product Marketing and other stakeholders.
- Ensure features meet enterprise security, privacy, and reliability expectations.
- Work closely with Architecture, Performance Engineering, Cloud Platform, Security, and Solutions Engineering.
- Follow and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security programs.
Requirements
Must-have technical and product experience required to lead a developer platform for pre‑silicon workflows.
- 10+ years in software engineering with technical leadership experience.
- 5+ years in product management, product ownership, or product delivery across teams and geographies.
- Strong fluency with modern development practices (test‑first approaches, CI/CD, release trains, and predictability).
- Technical depth in one or more areas: system software, software performance/profiling, RISC‑V/CPU micro‑architecture concepts, user experience, IP/SoC power and performance, DevOps and automation.
- Experience with service‑oriented architectures and cloud services (APIs, identity, usage analytics).
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Nice-to-have: AI/ML literacy, data visualization/analytics experience, platform extensibility (plugins/SDKs/APIs), and shift‑left or pre‑RTL methodology experience.
Education Requirements
No formal degree or specific field of study is specified. The posting does mention familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 and export control (EAR/ITAR) as a bonus; no explicit degree, certification, or equivalent‑experience language is required.
