Product Owner – Atlas SDK
Role Summary
The Product Owner will define the roadmap and lead delivery of the Atlas SDK and Atlas Explorer platform, enabling real-time compute subsystems (Sense, Think, Act) for Physical AI edge applications. The role partners with cross-functional teams including software engineering, quality/compliance, customer support, and sales to deliver reliable, safe, and developer-friendly SDK releases.
Work covers embedded software stacks (compilers, firmware, RTOS, Linux), runtimes, and developer tools for RISC-V/MIPS-based systems.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 10+ years software engineering (technical lead on multiple projects) and 3+ years product management experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include product strategy, backlog ownership, and delivery coordination across hardware and software domains.
- Develop and manage product roadmaps aligning processor capabilities, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
- Serve as Product Owner: define user stories, prioritize backlog, lead sprint planning, and run sprint reviews to deliver scheduled releases.
- Collaborate with software teams on API designs, versioning, release cadence, performance targets, and quality standards.
- Establish developer feedback loops and advocate for external and internal developer needs.
- Coordinate with Customer Support and Sales to align product capabilities with customer requirements and use cases.
- Drive adoption by producing sales collateral, documentation, and training materials for the Atlas SDK.
- Ensure SDK and runtime systems meet functional-safety standards and regulatory requirements; integrate safety requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
- Follow and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security programs in all activities.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience and technical lead on more than two projects or programs.
- 3+ years of product management experience, including bootstrapping a new product or technology initiative.
- Strong technical fluency in instruction set architectures, C/C++ compilers, RTOS, Linux, and AI runtime environments.
- Background in safety or mission-critical industries (automotive, medical, industrial) with familiarity with functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 or IEC 61508.
- Experience with embedded operating systems such as INTEGRITY, VxWorks, ThreadX, or QNX.
- Hands-on experience with board support packages (BSPs), device drivers, and middleware frameworks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience translating complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Experience creating developer-facing documentation, training materials, and sales support collateral.
Nice-to-have: deep familiarity with RISC-V/MIPS processors, real-time compute subsystems, and both open-source and commercial software solutions.
Education Requirements
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university.
