Product Manager - Custom Silicon
Role Summary
The Product Manager will define and drive strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle for CPU IP and custom silicon solutions targeted at aerospace and defense (A&D) and other high-reliability markets. This role coordinates sales, customers, engineering, quality/compliance, and business teams to deliver secure, standards-compliant processor IP and custom silicon.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The role expects approximately 5β10+ years of experience in semiconductor, CPU/IP, or custom silicon product management or equivalent technical leadership.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include product strategy, customer engagement, compliance, go-to-market, and cross-functional leadership.
- Define product requirements and multi-year roadmaps for CPU IP and Custom Silicon focused on A&D performance and certification needs.
- Identify market opportunities across avionics, space, radar, secure communications, and embedded defense systems.
- Engage directly with prime contractors, government customers, ecosystem partners, and Sales to capture customer requirements and support pursuits, RFP/RFI responses, and technical positioning.
- Translate customer and regulatory requirements into clear product specifications and differentiated value propositions.
- Ensure products meet relevant standards (e.g., DO-254, ISO 26262 where applicable), support certification and audits, and address export-control constraints.
- Develop product positioning, messaging, collateral, pricing strategy, and licensing models; manage product lifecycle and long-term support/obsolescence planning.
- Collaborate with CPU architects, silicon engineering, software, program management and cross-functional global teams; report product performance and market trends to leadership.
- Perform work in accordance with Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and experience required to perform the role; preferred items listed separately.

Must-have: 5β10+ years of product management or equivalent technical leadership in semiconductor, CPU/IP, or custom silicon domains.
- Proven experience serving aerospace, defense, space, or other high-reliability markets and understanding of long product lifecycles common to A&D programs.
- Familiarity with export controls (ITAR/EAR) and handling of regulated products.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and executive audiences; ability to influence without authority.
- Ability to perform competitive analysis, market sizing, and data-driven decision making.

Nice-to-have: Experience with safety-critical or mission-critical systems, radiation-hardened design techniques, work with defense primes or government programs, understanding of security architectures and trusted computing, and familiarity with RISC-V CPU IP.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is stated; equivalent practical experience is acceptable. (Source also references technical leadership experience of 5β10+ years.)
