Product Line Manager
Role Summary
The Product Line Manager owns post-release product performance, change management, configuration governance, roadmap execution, and cost optimization for a portfolio of semiconductor equipment products. This role leads cross-functional alignment across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, service, quality, and product marketing to ensure products are configurable, manufacturable, serviceable, and profitable.
Experience Level
Senior - requires 8+ years of relevant experience in product line/product management, program management, sustaining engineering, or semiconductor capital equipment industries.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include end-to-end product ownership, change/configuration control, sustainment, and cross-functional coordination.
- Own lifecycle, governance, and performance of assigned semiconductor equipment product lines.
- Drive product line strategies, roadmap execution, and market proliferation initiatives.
- Manage Product Change Management (PCM) processes; review and approve Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Non-Standard Requests (NSRs).
- Ensure accuracy of customer-shipped configurations and Bills of Materials (BOMs); lead Configuration Accuracy Review Meetings (CaRM).
- Manage product sustainment: obsolescence, alternate part qualification, supplier transitions, and lifecycle risk mitigation.
- Prioritize and drive product improvements from customer, service, and field feedback; support pricing and spare-parts strategies.
- Lead cross-functional reviews and decision forums for roadmap execution and business priorities.
- Drive cost-reduction initiatives and manage supplier/vendor issues affecting quality, availability, and cost.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience required for the role, plus concise preferred items.
- Must-have: 8+ years of relevant experience in product line management, product management, program management, sustaining engineering, or semiconductor capital equipment.
- Must-have: Proven experience with ECOs, Product Change Management (PCM), BOM management, and configuration control.
- Must-have: Demonstrated ability to work across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and customer-facing teams.
- Must-have: Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to travel (~10%).
- Nice-to-have: Experience with PLM and ERP systems and product configuration management tools.
- Nice-to-have: Experience in product cost reduction, supplier management, and obsolescence planning.
- Nice-to-have: Knowledge of semiconductor equipment products, global cross-functional leadership experience, or advanced degree in engineering/business.
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Preferred: Master's degree in Engineering or an MBA.
