Product Hardware Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Networking Product Engineering team to support development, validation, manufacturing, and reliability of NVIDIA networking systems. The role involves hands-on lab work, test development, failure analysis, and collaboration with hardware, firmware, software, manufacturing, test, quality, and operations teams.

This position is focused on practical engineering work to ensure product quality and production yield for networking products.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Early-career (recent graduates or engineers with approximately 0–3 years of experience).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include supporting test development, debugging, and product qualification across hardware and system levels.

  • Support development and validation of manufacturing test solutions for networking products.
  • Debug hardware and system-level issues in the lab using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, and other equipment.
  • Participate in failure analysis investigations and identify root causes of product issues.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Hardware, Software, Firmware, Manufacturing, Test Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to resolve technical challenges.
  • Monitor manufacturing test results, product quality, and production yield; support corrective actions.
  • Analyze engineering data to support continuous product and process improvements.
  • Contribute to test plans, validation activities, and characterization of new products.
  • Develop simple automation scripts and data analysis tools (e.g., using Python) to support validation and production testing.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes, plus additional preferred experience that strengthens candidacy.

  • Must-have: Strong understanding of electronics, digital circuits, and embedded systems.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and logic analyzers.
  • Must-have: Basic programming or scripting experience; ability to write simple automation or analysis scripts.
  • Must-have: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to debugging.
  • Must-have: Good communication and teamwork skills; curiosity and willingness to learn.
  • Nice-to-have: Internship or academic project experience in hardware design, validation, product engineering, or failure analysis.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with PCB design, embedded systems, or high-speed interfaces.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Linux, manufacturing/testing methodologies, automation, or engineering data analysis tools such as MATLAB.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
