Product Engineering Consultant

Role Summary

Serve as a principal technical authority for Siemens EDA’s Calibre DRC product line, advising on physical verification methodologies, product direction, and customer deployment strategies. The role partners with R&D, product engineering, field teams, and strategic customers to prototype, evaluate, and transition new capabilities while resolving high‑impact technical issues. Hybrid role based in Montreal.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide deep technical leadership for Calibre DRC, influencing product strategy and feature prioritization.
  • Identify emerging customer requirements, industry trends, and technology inflections relevant to physical verification.
  • Define, characterize, and prioritize new product capabilities and transition prototypes into production releases.
  • Lead resolution of the most challenging customer technical issues and develop scalable solutions and best practices.
  • Optimize tool performance and scalability across hardware, deployment configuration, rule-writing methodologies, and workflows.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to strategic customers to drive adoption of advanced flows and methodologies.
  • Lead cross-functional technical initiatives across application engineering, global support, product management, and development teams.
  • Create and deliver technical presentations, training, white papers, and application notes for internal and external audiences.
  • Mentor and develop engineers across the organization.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required to support customer and business objectives.

Requirements

Core qualifications and expectations:

  • Must-have: Demonstrated deep expertise in physical verification methodologies and the Calibre DRC product line or equivalent physical verification tools.
  • Proven experience resolving complex customer technical issues and delivering scalable solutions in a semiconductor design or manufacturing context.
  • Experience driving technical strategy, defining product capabilities, and partnering with R&D/product teams.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives and to mentor engineers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present complex technical concepts to technical and senior stakeholders.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally as needed.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience optimizing tool performance and scalability across hardware and deployment configurations; prior customer-facing field or application engineering experience.
