Role Summary

As a Product Engineer at Texas Instruments (Freising) you will support the lifecycle of step-down DC-DC converter ICs from development through production ramp and field performance monitoring. You will work with design, process, test, packaging and manufacturing teams to ensure products are manufacturable, reliable and cost-effective.

Focus areas include package definition, assembly/manufacturing qualification, reliability testing and driving fixes for production and field issues.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Drive new product introductions with emphasis on package definition, assembly/manufacturing qualification and transition to high-volume production.
• Plan and coordinate product setup and qualification within TI manufacturing processes and flows.
• Design and execute reliability and stress tests; analyze results and lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with design, test, systems, marketing and applications teams to define project requirements based on customer needs.
• Work closely with global manufacturing sites and cross-functional product development teams to ensure product readiness and quality.
• Support new technology projects, cost reduction, capacity expansion, yield enhancement and quality improvement initiatives.
• Monitor field performance and implement corrective actions to meet customer lifetime and reliability requirements.
• Communicate with worldwide teams and establish strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Requirements

Must-have and nice-to-have qualifications:

• Must-have: Knowledge or strong interest in semiconductor fabrication processes, manufacturing flows and reliability testing (electrical, physical, mechanical and chemical interactions).
• Must-have: Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics and materials science; basic understanding of electronic circuits.
• Must-have: Problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to work in a fast-paced global team.
• Must-have: Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Must-have: Basic Python development experience and familiarity with "Claude Code".
• Must-have: Experience with modeling/simulation tools such as Ansys, Cadence or similar.
• Nice-to-have: German language skills.
• Nice-to-have: Understanding of IC packaging and failure analysis techniques.
• Nice-to-have: Ability to travel internationally and to ramp quickly on new processes.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Microsystems Technology, Materials Science, Physics or a related field.
