Job Title

Product Engineer

Role Summary

Work on evaluation, debugging and characterization of analog integrated circuits-amplifiers, temperature sensors, sensor analog front ends and application-specific signal-processing ICs-for Automotive and Industrial markets.

Collaborate with Design, Applications, Test, Manufacturing, Quality and Reliability to take products from development through production and to support manufacturing yield, quality and cost improvements.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Early Career - 2+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include electrical validation, characterization and cross-functional product support.

  • Develop and evaluate analog amplifiers, temperature sensors, sensor AFEs and application-specific signal-processing ICs.
  • Design bench evaluation PCBs and develop characterization programs for bench testing.
  • Perform evaluation, debug and electrical characterization to verify product and manufacturing requirements.
  • Work with failure analysis to determine root causes of reliability and qualification issues.
  • Collaborate with process and package technology teams to develop and qualify technologies for new products.
  • Support global manufacturing on product quality, yield management and cost-reduction efforts, including product spins and derivatives.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred skills listed separately.

  • Must-have: 2+ years of relevant experience and a solid understanding of analog and digital circuit operation and analysis.
  • Must-have: Experience performing evaluation, debug and characterization of ICs or equivalent laboratory work.
  • Nice-to-have: Hands-on use of lab equipment (curve tracers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, return loss analyzers).
  • Nice-to-have: Experience testing op-amps, ADCs, mixed-signal and digital circuits; bench validation and characterization PCBs.
  • Nice-to-have: Integrated-circuit failure analysis experience and programming for bench automation (LabVIEW, TestStand, C, C++).
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of statistics and tools for analyzing characterization data, and experience setting production test limits and predicting yield.
  • Nice-to-have: Strong teamwork, time management, communication and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple projects.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
