Job Title
Product Engineer
Role Summary
Work on evaluation, characterization and production release of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for automotive and industrial markets. The role collaborates closely with design, test, manufacturing, quality, reliability and applications teams across new-product development and mature-product support.
Experience Level
Entry-level. Minimum 2 years of relevant experience is specified.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include design verification, bench validation, failure analysis support, and manufacturing support across product development and production.
- Develop and support analog amplifiers, temperature sensors, sensor analog front ends and application-specific signal-processing ICs.
- Design and build bench evaluation PCBs and create characterization programs for lab evaluations.
- Evaluate, debug and characterize ICs to verify product requirement and manufacturing requirements.
- Coordinate with failure analysis to determine root causes of reliability and qualification failures.
- Work with process and package teams to develop and qualify technologies for new products.
- Support global manufacturing on product quality, yield management, cost reduction, and product spins/derivatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Applications, Test, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality and Reliability.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, tools and professional abilities.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in IC evaluation, characterization or related engineering roles.
- Solid understanding of analog and digital circuit operation and analysis.
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment (e.g., curve tracers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, return-loss analyzers) for device debug and data collection.
- Experience bench-testing op-amps, ADCs, mixed-signal and digital circuits; experience with bench validation/characterization PCBs.
- Experience with integrated circuit/device failure analysis and debug.
- Programming skills for test automation (LabVIEW/TestStand) and experience with C or C++.
- Knowledge of statistics and tools to analyze large characterization data sets, set production test limits and predict yield.
- Effective verbal and written communication, time management and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is specified. The posting also specifies a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. No certifications were listed.
