Role Summary
Senior Product Quality and Reliability Engineer responsible for sustaining automotive and client semiconductor products during high-volume manufacturing (HVM).
Lead execution of sustaining strategies to meet product quality, reliability and cost targets, and drive design and manufacturing improvements from field and test feedback.
Experience Level
Senior — minimum 5+ years in product development and qualification of new semiconductor products.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities in HVM sustaining, quality and reliability for semiconductor products:
- Develop and execute product sustaining strategies to meet quality and cost objectives.
- Drive systemic reduction of Statistical Bin Limit (SBL) triggers in high-volume manufacturing.
- Perform risk assessments and define quality and reliability goals to support key product decisions.
- Ensure class and burn-in coverage meet requirements.
- Interface with foundry, OSAT and development partners to ensure product quality and reliability.
- Analyze customer returns and early customer feedback to identify corrective actions and generation-over-generation improvements.
- Monitor post-silicon quality metrics and implement learnings into future designs and processes.
Requirements
Core qualifications and technical capabilities required or strongly preferred.
- Must-have: 5+ years in product development and qualification of new semiconductor products in high-volume manufacturing.
- Must-have: Experience investigating customer issues, failure analysis, and driving corrective actions.
- Must-have: Risk assessment capability and cross-functional technical leadership in a manufacturing environment.
- Nice-to-have: Test and reliability knowledge specific to product qualification.
- Nice-to-have: Semiconductor product ownership experience and experience with complex IC/CPU/device behavior.
- Nice-to-have: Strong testing and failure analysis background; experience interfacing with foundry and OSAT partners.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering or Microelectronics is required. Preferred fields include Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Microelectronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
