Job Title
Product Development Engineer
Role Summary
Member of the product development/test engineering team responsible for enabling post-silicon validation and high-volume manufacturing (HVM) ramp for integrated circuits. Focuses on testability, manufacturability, ATE evaluation, and cross-functional execution from feasibility through production.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The posting does not specify a years-of-experience requirement.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include developing test and manufacturing solutions for new products and supporting production ramp:
- Develop and improve testability and manufacturability from component feasibility through production ramp.
- Design, validate, and debug test circuits, test flows, and methodologies for new products.
- Evaluate designs on automatic test equipment (ATE); debug functional and performance issues to root cause.
- Perform ATE device characterization, define datasheet specifications, and conduct yield analysis.
- Develop software to convert validation vectors and drive complex test equipment; create and validate test hardware.
- Collaborate with process development, fab, assembly, quality, reliability, and manufacturing to enable HVM ramp and site certification.
- Drive manufacturing readiness, wafer start planning, product qualification strategy, and capacity analysis.
- Analyze post-silicon data (binsplit, DLCP, fallout) to optimize test time, yield, and production cost.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience required to perform the role:
- Practical experience with ATE evaluation, device characterization, and production test development.
- Experience with design-for-test/debug/manufacturing (DFT/DFD/DFM) practices and test flow development.
- Proven ability to perform yield analysis and optimize binsplit and test strategies for cost and quality.
- Experience debugging test systems and developing test control or conversion software (scripting or similar).
- Ability to work cross-functionally with fabs, assembly, test factories, and product/design teams to support ramp.
- Strong data analysis skills and experience using data to drive test-time reduction and manufacturing optimizations.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
