Job Title

Product Development Engineer

Role Summary

Join NVIDIA's Operations Engineering team in Hsinchu to transfer high-performance CPU and automotive SoC designs into mass production. The role focuses on manufacturing test process architecture, yield improvement, test coverage, and production ramp across worldwide manufacturing sites.

Work areas include post-silicon characterization, ATE failures debug, reliability qualification, and cross-functional problem resolution with design, foundry, quality, and test teams.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Level - Entry or Early Career). The posting requests approximately 2+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include designing test processes, improving yield and coverage, and leading cross-functional production ramp activities.

  • Architect, design, and implement manufacturing test processes for CPUs and Automotive SoCs.
  • Identify and deploy test methods to improve manufacturing efficiency and test coverage for leading-edge processor products.
  • Analyze yield limiters; drive Vmin/Fmax optimization and speed-binning strategies.
  • Resolve failures on Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) and lead root-cause efforts with multi-functional teams.
  • Define product test requirements and lead NPI bring-up, validation, characterization, and reliability qualification (e.g., AEC-Q100) for production ramp.
  • Correlate field/customer failures with production data to determine root cause, risk, and exposure and implement corrective actions.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes required for this role.

  • Post-silicon characterization, correlation, qualification and debug experience, including HTOL testing.
  • Knowledge of ATE testing, DFT methodology, and CMOS device physics.
  • Familiarity with CPU architecture fundamentals (cache hierarchies, coherency fabrics, multi-core power management) or automotive product lifecycles.
  • Experience driving failure debug on ATE and using failure diagnosis/isolation tools.
  • Strong technical communication and presentation skills; methodical problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated, ownership mentality, strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Nice-to-have: scripting/data-analysis (Python/Java/JMP) for large-scale test data, experience with ATE systems (e.g., 93K, uflex), and familiarity with DFT insertion techniques (SCAN, ATPG, MBIST, LBIST).

Education Requirements

Master's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics (or closely related technical field). The posting specifies 2+ years of relevant experience. Also mentions familiarity with automotive semiconductor quality and safety standards such as AEC-Q100 and ISO 26262.
