Product Development Engineer

Role Summary

Provide engineering support for mobile DRAM (LPDDR) product development and testing, working with internal teams and external business partners. Perform electrical analysis, product characterization, and failure analysis in lab environments and help define test strategies and fixtures.

Mid-level β€” requires approximately 3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include coordination with partners, lab testing, and test-strategy development for mobile DRAM products.

  • Serve as liaison between Micron and business partners; provide timely in-person technical communication at partner sites.
  • Manage ongoing LPDDR DRAM projects with business partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Use internal engineering testers and measurement tools to perform electrical analysis in Micron and partner labs.
  • Perform product characterization and electrical fault/failure analysis using in-house equipment.
  • Develop and implement back-end and mobile DRAM test strategies to improve coverage, quality, yields, and test time.
  • Collaborate with test engineering to define and secure fixtures for memory and system testing.
  • Work with cross-functional engineering groups to investigate and resolve process- and defect-related issues.
  • Travel internationally and domestically (approximately 50%).

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; optional items listed as nice-to-have.

  • Must-have: ~3 years of relevant engineering experience in product/test development for memory or similar hardware products.
  • Must-have: Experience developing DRAM test strategies and improving backend test coverage and quality.
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with electrical measurement tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers, and lab testers.
  • Must-have: Data analysis and parsing skills to improve yields, test times, and product quality; experience with statistical tools (JMP) and scripting.
  • Must-have: Ability to write system control scripts for test automation.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with Perl for data processing and familiarity with AI-assist tools (e.g., Copilot).
  • Nice-to-have: Prior work with LPDDR/mobile DRAM products and test fixture design.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, or a related field and approximately 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
