Role Summary

Lead development and customer adoption of backend physical-design flows in Cadence Virtuoso for advanced process nodes. This customer-facing role combines physical design methodology, design automation, and direct customer engagement to enable efficient implementation and influence product capabilities.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical leadership of backend flow development and direct customer support.

• Develop and validate advanced backend design and signoff flows for Virtuoso targeting advanced nodes.
• Work directly with customers to diagnose issues, deliver solutions, and drive adoption of workflows.
• Implement automation and tooling to improve flow efficiency and repeatability.
• Collaborate with R&D teams to reproduce customer issues and influence product direction.
• Create technical documentation, training materials, and deliver customer-facing trainings or demos.
• Troubleshoot complex layout, LVS/DRC, and signoff-related problems in production designs.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

• Strong experience in custom IC backend design, layout, and signoff flows.
• Deep familiarity with Virtuoso layout environments and advanced-node methodologies.
• Experience with automation and scripting (SKILL, Python, Perl, or UNIX shell).
• Proven ability to work directly with customers and translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience troubleshooting complex issues and collaborating across engineering teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication, documentation, and training skills.

Education Requirements

BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 9+ years of relevant experience; or MS with 7+ years of relevant experience.
