Principal Product Engineer - Innovus

Role Summary

Responsible for developing and validating system-level planning and physical implementation design flows for advanced 3D IC designs using Cadence Integrity 3D-IC and Innovus. The role requires close engagement with top-tier global customers and collaboration with R&D and field engineering teams to align product development with customer technical needs.

Work focuses on design-flow development, customer validation, and providing field feedback on competitive and technical challenges for 3D IC integration.

Experience Level

Senior level. Requires 8+ years of hands-on ASIC digital implementation experience; 10+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include developing design flows, customer engagement, and providing technical feedback to product teams.

• Develop and validate system-level planning and physical implementation flows for 3D IC designs using Integrity 3D-IC and Innovus.
• Engage directly with global, top-tier customers to understand design specifications and implementation challenges in advanced package designs.
• Collaborate with R&D and field engineering teams to integrate customer requirements into product features and flows.
• Perform or coordinate analysis related to timing, PSI, thermal issues, and physical verification as required by the flow.
• Collect and report customer feedback, field intelligence, and competitive information to inform product direction.
• Document and present validated flows and findings to both internal teams and customers.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience, plus preferred capabilities.

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in ASIC digital implementation or a closely related field.
• In-depth understanding of EDA tools for physical design and implementation.
• Experience with system-level planning and physical implementation for complex designs, preferably including 3D IC topics.
• Proficiency with scripting languages such as Tcl, Perl, or Python.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and team communication skills; ability to interact directly with customers.
• Fluent spoken and written English.

Nice-to-have:

• Deep understanding of design methodology and tool features for 3D integration.
• Knowledge of advanced package design challenges and deep sub-micron design problems and solutions.
• 10+ years of relevant hands-on experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field is required. Master's degree in those fields is preferred.
