Principal Product Development Engineer - Power MOSFET
Role Summary
Lead or contribute to cross-functional teams to design, develop, qualify and release new Power MOSFET products that meet customer, market and quality requirements. The role covers technical development, validation, documentation and coordination with product marketing, process and manufacturing functions.
Experience Level
Senior role. Requires approximately 8 years' experience in semiconductors or a related field.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on delivering new product families and ensuring product readiness for manufacturing and customers.
- Lead project teams to deliver new product families, complex products or technology platforms on schedule.
- Ensure manufacturability, reliability and adherence to customer/market requirements in collaboration with product marketing, process, assembly and industrial teams.
- Provide technical support for product specifications, customer technical enquiries and complaint resolution.
- Provide project management and technical expertise across one or multiple projects.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of product release processes, simulation, design and qualification methods.
- Produce and maintain product and project documentation required for release.
Requirements
Must-have technical and professional skills required to perform the role.
- Expert knowledge of electrical operation and device structure of Power MOSFETs.
- Experience with fab processes, packaging flow and design process for new products.
- Proficiency in reliability methods, failure-mode analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Experience with device simulation tools, electrical characterization and data analysis; able to produce clear technical reports.
- Proven ability to plan, organize and control projects, including reporting on progress and adhering to schedules and budgets.
- Leadership skills: mentoring junior engineers, guiding technical decisions and acting as a role model.
- Effective verbal and written communication, including customer-facing communications where required.
Nice-to-have: prior experience in product release processes, cross-functional manufacturing collaboration, or similar product platform launches.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a closely related field.
