The Principal Physical Design Engineer will be a part of the Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering team, focused on designing and implementing semiconductor products as part of Microsoft's expanding Cloud Infrastructure.
Experience Level
Senior level, requiring 12+ years of experience in electrical or computer engineering or a related field.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading physical design tasks including floorplanning, synthesis, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing, timing verification, and physical verification.
- Driving the physical design team to achieve quality results in line with milestone goals.
- Providing detailed progress reports, identifying issues and risks with limited direction.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
- 12+ years of experience in physical design implementation and signoff.
- Experience in tapeouts of complex ASICs.
- Ability to meet security screening requirements.
