Role Summary
Design and implement system-level simulation models and tools to evaluate networking hardware and architectures. Work remotely on an R&D team to model NICs, switches and future system architectures, producing performance and scalability data to inform ASIC, hardware and software design decisions.

Senior β typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop detailed simulation models for NICs, switches and system architectures.
- Design and run realistic simulation motifs and network scenarios.
- Create tools for performance analysis, visualization and reporting.
- Evaluate performance, scalability and fault tolerance and recommend architectural trade-offs.
- Apply software engineering best practices to ensure reliable, maintainable simulation code.
- Collaborate with network architects, ASIC designers and software engineers to validate designs.
Requirements
Core qualifications and skills:
- 10+ years of relevant experience in network architecture, system-level design, or simulation engineering.
- Proficiency implementing simulation models in C++ and scripting or analysis in Python.
- Experience analyzing architectural trade-offs and optimizing for performance and scalability.
- Proven ability to build simulation tools or frameworks and deliver actionable evaluation metrics.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for cross-functional teams.
Preferred:
- Experience with NICs, switch architectures, ASIC/SoC design considerations, or co-design of hardware and software.
- Familiarity with performance visualization tools and fault-injection techniques.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related technical field β or equivalent practical experience.
