Principal Mixed-Signal Design Engineer
Role Summary
Lead development of ADC, DAC and/or SerDes PHY subsystems for system-on-chip (SoC) products within the Advanced Cores Group (ACG). Work spans subsystem architecture selection, transistor-level mixed-signal circuit design, layout guidance, and evaluation/test coordination for products implemented in FinFET technologies.
Experience Level
Senior — 10+ years of mixed-signal integrated circuit development experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop and select mixed-signal subsystem implementation architectures for ADCs, DACs and/or SerDes PHYs.
- Design challenging transistor-level mixed-signal integrated circuits.
- Prepare design documentation and lead design reviews.
- Lead and coordinate mixed-signal subsystem development efforts across design, layout, verification, and test.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to mixed-signal design engineers.
- Guide mixed-signal layout efforts and oversee evaluation and test activities.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Deep understanding of data converter architectures and specifications and/or SerDes PHY architectures and specifications.
- Deep knowledge of mixed-signal design fundamentals, relevant design tools, and methodologies.
- Experience developing mixed-signal subsystems using FinFET wafer technologies.
- Solid understanding of integrated circuit product development lifecycle including verification, evaluation, test, and qualification.
- Proven record of developing mixed-signal ICs for commercial applications.
- Strong technical leadership, teamwork, mentoring, and communication skills.
Education Requirements
MS in Electrical Engineering is specified.
