Role Summary

The Principal FPGA Design Engineer position will focus on developing FPGA designs for a variety of applications including communication systems and embedded processing. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure best practices in design and integration, with a specific focus on VHDL coding.

Experience Level

This position is aimed at candidates with significant experience, requiring at least eight years working with FPGA/ASIC design and integration in a relevant capacity.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Delivering high-quality production FPGA designs from initial concept through to production.
  • Architecting systems, translating requirements into FPGA specifications.
  • Performing simulations and verification of designs using self-checking methodologies.
  • Managing project schedules and delivering work on time and on budget.
  • Documenting designs, verification plans, and user guidance.
  • Leading or coaching junior engineers on projects.
  • Interacting with customers and supporting technical reviews.

Requirements

To qualify for this position, candidates must have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with FPGA/ASIC design and implementation, particularly utilizing VHDL.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain U.S. security clearance.
  • Experience with Xilinx or Microsemi devices and tools.

Education Requirements

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology.
