Principal Engineering Lead

Role Summary

Lead a multi-disciplinary, customer-facing engineering team based in San Jose to drive customer success integrating Arm technology from prototype through volume production. The role requires frequent on-site engagement with customer engineering teams in the Bay Area and overseas and coordination across Arm's engineering organization.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on technical leadership, customer engagement, and team development.

  • Serve as the primary technical interface to customer product engineering teams and build trusted relationships with senior customer engineers and leaders.
  • Lead timely resolution of complex system-level issues spanning hardware, software, integration, and manufacturing.
  • Provide clear, technically grounded reporting, prioritization, and status updates to senior management.
  • Build, mentor, and develop the Customer Engineering team, supporting personal development and career progression.
  • Use customer insights to influence Arm's product roadmap and deployment strategy for Edge AI and SoC platforms.

Requirements

Must-have

  • Proven senior, customer-facing technical role experience with the ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly.
  • Deep system-level understanding of complex SoC-based products and product implementation challenges.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with global teams and customers, including exposure to Asia-based manufacturing ecosystems.
  • Right to work in the United States without employer sponsorship (role is not eligible for sponsorship).

Nice-to-have

  • Experience within the Arm ecosystem or the semiconductor/IP industry.
  • Background in embedded systems, low-power design, or edge/AI-enabled consumer devices.
