Role Summary

The Principal Engineer, SOC Design position is within the DRAM Development Lab at Samsung Semiconductor. This role focuses on the development of silicon solutions in alignment with emerging technologies such as machine learning and data analytics.

Senior level with over 15-20 years of experience in relevant fields, depending on educational qualifications.

Responsibilities

The engineer will be responsible for various tasks within SOC design, including:

  • Participating in architectural definitions and microarchitecture at the subsystem or chip level.
  • Managing top integration, logic design, and RTL implementation along with quality checks.
  • Reviewing third-party IPs and responsible for their integration at the top level.
  • Collaborating closely with architects and verification engineers to ensure robust design.
  • Interfacing with physical designers on timing constraints and static timing analysis.

Requirements

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Science with 20+ years of experience, a Master’s with 18+ years, or a PhD with 15+ years.
  • Hands-on experience in ASIC design flow, ATE vector generation, and silicon bring-up.
  • Familiarity with commercial IPs such as UCIe, CPU, Ethernet, and DDR interfaces.
  • Strong understanding of PPA (performance, power, area) trade-offs and timing analysis.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and demonstrate effective communication skills.

Education Requirements

A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields is required.
