Principal Engineer, Power Architecture
Role Summary
The Principal Engineer for Power Architecture leads the design and delivery of SoC power architectures and mentors engineering teams. The role coordinates across hardware, software, RTL, physical design, foundry technology and IP groups to define executable power-management solutions and implementation plans.
Experience Level
Senior - requires 15+ years in the semiconductor industry, including 12+ years in technical leadership and 3+ years in people management.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on defining robust power architectures, guiding implementation, and leading technical teams.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with system hardware, system software, RTL design, DFT, physical design, foundry technology, and IP teams.
- Develop and evaluate SoC power-management hierarchies and recommend optimal architectures.
- Assess switchable and multi-voltage domains, back- and forward-body biasing, and DVFS to recommend power-reduction techniques.
- Define execution plans, robust methodologies, and clear documentation to guide implementation teams.
- Champion development, deployment, support, and maintenance of scalable processes and methodologies using AI/ML and EDA technologies.
- Mentor and lead high-performing engineering teams; provide technical leadership and program oversight.
- Perform activities in a safe and responsible manner and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security programs.
Requirements
Must-have technical and leadership qualifications.
- 15+ years semiconductor industry experience; 12+ years in technical leadership; 3+ years in people management.
- Deep expertise in SoC power-management architecture and early-stage ("shift-left") power assessment strategies.
- Broad understanding of system-, software-, and silicon-level power architecture solutions.
- Strong knowledge of power-optimization techniques for sub-nanometer foundry technologies.
- Expertise in industry-standard power-intent specifications such as Unified Power Format (UPF).
- Strong project-management, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Candidates applying for roles in India must be fully vaccinated prior to their targeted start date.

- Proven track record delivering complex programs against ambitious schedules.
- Experience mentoring and building high-performing engineering teams at scale; customer-focused problem solving.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field required.
