Role Summary
The Principal Engineer role involves leading structural and physical design implementation of Custom IP and SoC designs from RTL to GDS. The focus is on creating a design database ready for manufacturing and optimizing designs for power, frequency, and area.
Experience Level
Senior; 14+ years of experience in ASIC/SoC implementation is required.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities include:
- Lead structural design and physical design implementation.
- Conduct physical design flow processes including synthesis, place and route, clock tree synthesis, and static timing analysis.
- Perform verification and signoff processes including equivalence verification and reliability verification.
- Analyze results and provide recommendations for architectural improvements.
- Participate in developing physical design methodologies and flow automation.
Requirements
The candidate must meet the following requirements:
- Must-Have: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or a related field.
- 14+ years of experience with complex ASIC/Soc implementation.
- Experience in leading a team of engineers.
- Proficiency in System Verilog and scripting languages (i.e. PERL, TCL, or Python).
- Experience with hardware validation techniques.
- Deep understanding of CPU, GPU, and memory controller design.
- Nice-to-Have: Post-graduate degree in related fields.
- Familiarity with industry standard protocols (i.e. PCIE, USB).
- Experience with low power implementation and verification techniques.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a STEM related field of study.
