Role Summary

The Principal Engineer for DFT at Qualcomm will contribute to the development of Design for Test methodologies in next-generation semiconductor process nodes. This role involves collaboration across teams to deliver world-class DFT solutions, utilizing extensive experience in VLSI EDA/CAD methodology development.

Experience Level

Senior; minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in the VLSI EDA/CAD methodology development, specifically in the MBIST domain.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design, develop, and deploy MBIST flow capabilities within the DFT CAD team.
  • Innovate and implement new MBIST methodologies for advanced process nodes.
  • Evaluate new tools and features and partner with EDA vendors.
  • Create optimized methodologies to enhance test quality and reduce costs.
  • Deliver accurate collaterals to support memory repair and diagnostics.

Requirements

Must-have skills include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in VLSI EDA/CAD methodology development.
  • Deep expertise in MBIST and ATPG processes.
  • Strong hands-on experience with MBIST EDA tools like Synopsys SMS.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as TCL and Python.
  • Solid understanding of memory architectures and BIST algorithms.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
